Here are some resources to help you have a daily devotional or quiet time with God. These can be used personally, or together as a family. Start where you are, even if it's just once or twice a week (or even less), and try to work your way up to finding a regular time and place each day to meet with God. Some tips for having family devotions, here and here.
Dated materials: Our Journey is a daily devotional that has gone through many changes over the past twenty years. If I remember correctly it has changed its target audience, name of the devotional, format, layout, and kinds of contributors many times. But I recommend it as the first choice because in its current state it is an overall balance of content and format which is friendly for youth and their families. You might have seen Our Daily Bread in the library/lobby area of the new building. It is free to take and content-wise it is very solid. It's format, however, may not be as engaging as some, and in my opinion it just feels a little "old". But I suppose that is to be expected for a booklet with a rich history and tradition: it has been printed for over 50 years and in 30 languages, and is one of the most circulated devotionals around the world! Undated materials: My Utmost for His Highest is a classic. It is a collection of abbreviated sermons from Oswald Chambers in the early part of the 20th century. Being one of the best selling books of all Christianity, it is well known and comes in many different formats, including specific editions and using updated English language. "The One Year Book of Psalms" [amazon/cbd] is an excellent more recent look at the Psalms in a daily format. Using a very readable translation of the Bible (NLT), it brings home very nicely the understanding and application of the Psalms. A wonderful personal favorite of mine! And finally, one popular thing that some people have done is to read a Proverb each day. Since there are 31 of them, it's pretty easy to get through the whole book once a month. And because the Proverbs are very practical and easier to understand, there isn't as much difficulty in interpreting it or trying to figure out how it applies.
