Pastor for English congregation
It was with great excitement that we welcome Pastor Steve Misarski aboard our pastoral staff as the Pastor for our English congregation. He assumed the position in June. We thank the Lord for His provision in sending Pastor Steve to us for meeting our urgent need for pastoral leadership in the English congregation. Pastor Steve had been serving in New Hope Chapel in Westborough since 1998 before joining CGCM. Pastor Steve is also an army chaplain with Air National Guard. He was born and raised in Connecticut. We also welcome his wife, Janice, and their children: Jonathan, Samuel, Bethany and Mariah into our big church family.

Children Director
The need for a Children Director was revisited by the Children Director Search Committee and children ministry coworkers. It was recognized that, as in the case of our Property Deacon, too many responsibilities in the children ministry fall under the shoulder of the Children Deacon. To allow our Children Deacon to focus on the AWANA program, some of the responsibilities previously performed by the Children Deacon have been assigned to different coworkers who volunteered to assume such responsibilities. So the consensus was that there is no immediate need to recruit an outside full time Children Director. This arrangement will be reviewed after a trial period.

Church staff office hour
To facilitate members to contact our pastoral staff at the church, their office hours can now be found on church’s website. They are also posted outside each staff’s office. Except for some rare occasions for special events, there will always be at least one staff at the church between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Pastoral Search
As reported in the October congregational meeting, Pastor Roujen has determined to conclude his pastoral ministry here at the church, and to become a full time missionary from the church by 2015. To plan ahead for that eventuality, a Pastoral Search Committee consisting of Pastor Roujen, Elder Shu-Tsui, Elder David, Jo Ho and Vivienne Hsu has been formed. Advertisement for the position of Pastor of Chinese ministry has been posted. There were some applicants but none was found to be suitable for the position by the Committee. The search is ongoing. May the Lord provide in a timely fashion a suitable person to continue Pastor Roujen’s legacy in building up the church and in leading it to a higher spiritual maturity.

Personnel Committee
We thank Elder Shu-Tsui, Elder David and Wenlin Yuan in serving in the Personnel Committee in 2012. This Committee plays the important role of reviewing the church staff’s salary and benefit, as well as preparing their annual budget.

We are full of thanksgiving for our pastoral staff: Pastor Roujen, Pastor Chin, Pastor Steve and Minister Tim – for their instruction of God’s words on the pulpit; leadership in evangelism, discipleship through training and mentorship; care and love through encouragement, counseling, visitation and caring for the sick. Last year was a sad year with record high instances of terminally ill members. Our pastors tirelessly walked the last mile on earth with them, giving them and their family practical support, comfort, hope and companionship before they went with the Lord. They also would not hesitate in lending a helping hand in filling whatever gaps with needs (even in areas of transportation), and in sharing the responsibilities of the Property Deacon, going beyond their duties, beyond their hours……. We are most appreciative for their willingness to serve in any and all ways; and for their love for this church and its members.

Special thanks to our Administrator, Jenny Kao, who takes care of so many things in the church, big and small, handles all kind of requests from all corners. Besides her official duties, Jenny also serves in the worship team and the Franklin Fellowship.

What an awesome staff we have. We are a very blessed church. May the Lord bless them richly.
